Yang Bertanah Air, Tak Bertanah put forwards eyewitness stories of former members of Lembaga Kebudayaan Rakyat (Folk Culture Organization) on their revolution movement, as a continuation on the unfinished revolution of 1945.

There was a chain of revolutionary events that did not stop only with political struggles, but continued on through struggles in the cultural field. This folk-based cultural organization was born on August 17, 1950 and ended because of the military oppression tragedy of 1965.

Ironically, the history of Lekra was kept-quiet and hidden during the Orde Baru regime. Lekra figures that tell their eyewitness stories in this documentary picture includes Permadi Lyostam member of Folk Painters; Hersri Setiawan, Leader of Lekra Central Java; S. Anantaguna, member of central Lekra; Mia Bustam, Leader of Lekra Yogyakarta; and figures from Bumi Tarung, an art center under Lekra, such as Amrus Natalysa, Misbach Thamrin, and Djoko Pekik.
